Why is ancestor veneration important? As some of you may already know, your ancestors are the first line of protection against forces seen and unseen. Increasing your spiritual protection is more than just safety, and venerating your ancestors is more than getting something from them; it’s about building a relationship with those who came before you, and without them, for better or worse, you would not be here. And just like you inherit your father’s eyes, your mother’s smile, and your grandmother’s wisdom, you can also inherit the work that they were not able to finish before their transition!
If life has been randomly hard and you cannot figure out why, honey, you’ve got work to do! We see this on a mundane level: if you have inherited your parents’ debts, or come from a family that is poor in resources or education, you may need to seek outside help and work harder for what you have and want! Proper ancestor veneration can solve MOST of your problems. Full stop. Some of you who are healers may even be responsible for elevating your ancestors who were not their best selves while they were here! Now, the good news is that consistent veneration, calling their name, prayers, and proper offerings will do this naturally.
